PRETTY IN PRINT! The art of decoupage
Transforming objects with printed papers
Your Party or Workshop Experience
Decoupage is the art of transforming an object with specialist decorative papers and glue, and comes from the French word 'decouper,' meaning 'to cut out.' Paper may be used either cut or torn, then applied to the surface of an object and varnished, giving the appearance of an intricately painted finish. It's simple, fun and with just a little practice you can achieve very impressive results! All materials are provided, including a wide range of coloured and patterned papers to choose from, including a lovely selection of papers from the Santoro Gorjuss™ collection. Decoupage can also be combined with paint effects (washes and stencils) and embellishments to create a variety of decorative effects. In theory, any object can be transformed with the art of decoupage! I'm happy to discuss ideas if you have a particular project in mind. Availability of base items can vary; currently available projects include: - glass top wooden trinket box - wooden tea chest (can be used for jewellery, hair accessories, small keepsakes and more) - wooden desk tidy - wooden dream box (for storing inspirational notes, quotes, memorabilia...) - large papier mache “LOVE” letters Or you may choose to make a smaller project: - a papier mache unicorn or teddy bear - a resin hare (resin has more precise detailing than papier mache) - wooden tissue box - white wooden heart shaped trinket box - white wooden treasure box - white wooden heart bunting - 8" terramundi-style “stash’n’smash” moneybox egg - mermaid mirror - clam shell trinket dish …along with another small project such as a wooden heart decoration, wooden keyring, wooden block sign or night light jar. It's also possible to make seasonal objects, such as Christmas Eve boxes and Easter Eggs. Party lasts for around 2 to 2.5 hours, depending on the project(s) chosen and additional techniques selected (painting, embellishments). £160 for 6; £20 per additional guest Want to add a refreshment break? Mermaid mocktail making combines perfectly! Take a look at my 'add on' activities or contact me for more information.
